DROMANA CFA

WHO ARE WE?

Dromana Fire Brigade is a 100% volunteer brigade located waterside on Port Phillip Bay 85 kilometres southeast of Melbourne on the picturesque Mornington Peninsula encircled by Arthurs Seat and Mount Martha,

On average over the past 10 years we have responded to around 300 calls for assistance each year including house and factory fires, motor vehicle accidents, grass and scrub fires. We have 40+ members providing an emergency service 24/7/365.

Established as Dromana Bush Fire Brigade on 29th December 1929, and has grown with our township into one of the Peninsula busiest Urban Fire Brigade’s with 40 active Firefighters and a Brigade Support Team of eight. We encourage family orientated membership and currently have several multiple members of the one family in its ranks.

To ensure a true community partnership spirit occurs, with the exception of operational duties, where possible the brigade endeavours to attend all invited community events.

OUR STANDARDS

Proud of Our High Standards

Dromana Fire Brigade attends around 300 calls for emergency assistance each year. We are proud of the high standards we set and meet for our community. When we arrive at an emergency call our training and high standards position us for success.

Professionalism

In order to uphold our level of professionalism we train weekly on Tuesday nights from 7.30pm-9.30pm and do maintenance and equipment checks Sunday mornings 10:00am-12:00 noon.

We have minimum attendance rates for our members to attend training and call outs to ensure consistent performance at every emergency call out. By sharing the load, we can achieve high performance and commitment while maintaining a work and life balance.

Community

The Dromana Community in summer grows substantially with tourists coming to enjoy the beautiful Mornington peninsula. As a brigade we attend a number of community events during the year, including annual events such our Australia Day Festivities, Uncle Bob’s Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, Anzac Day and the Rotary Community Markets and Halloween Bonfire and the Dromana Drive In New Year’s Eve fireworks exhibition to name a few.

These community events allow us to build relationships with the community. We also provide education and safety sessions, such as our Fire Safe kids Program for school children living in our community.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?

A decision to join Dromana Fire Brigade is a decision to join a high performing team who make a difference in the community. Dromana CFA members receive nationally recognised and accredited training courses that can be beneficial in both personal and employment environments.
